about me
Hi I am Danielle, and I am writing this, feeling like I am
writing an autobiography or something. But I have felt the need to
tell you a little about myself.
I was born and raised in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, where I
lived until I attended college at the University of Southern Mississippi in
Hattiesburg. There I received a BS degree in a subject that I totally
love, geology. I guess that is how I became interested in
gemstones. Although I have to admit, I have learned more about the
minerals of this earth since I started making gemstone jewelry.

Upon completion of my geology degree,
I moved to Rogers, Arkansas, where I enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Ozark
Mountains. My parents still live in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, but now
they have somewhere to go on vacation and visit me at the same time.
After I moved to Arkansas, I took my gemstone jewelry
business to the world wide web. I designed and built my own website, which is a never
ending process. I am constantly tweaking and changing to improve the
website design, in
addition to adding new gemstone jewelry designs.
In addition to my website, I
have exhibited in the past at the Ole Applegate Craft Fair in Bentonville, Arkansas. I love selling my jewelry at the craft fairs, and I love
meeting the people who come from all over to enjoy this event.
In addition to designing gemstone jewelry, I also have a
great love for digital photography. In
addition to taking pictures for my website, I take landscape and scenery pictures.
I have a few of my pictures exhibited for viewing and for purchase at DHJPhotography -
Digital Landscape Photography
And finally, my latest endeavor is my latest website,
gemstonejewelrybydanielle. I am
still designing gemstone jewelry designs, but everything on my new website is
one-of-a-kind only. That being said, if you like something at
gemstonejewelrybydanielle, you may want
to purchase it before someone else does. Once something is sold, it
will not be available again exactly as you see it. This allows me
to create new gemstone jewelry designs all the time, which is what I really
love to do.
If you haven't notice, there are so many people making and
selling jewelry. And though some of us seem to have the same goal of
making quality jewelry that a customer would be proud to wear, I have
noticed that no two jewelry designers have the same jewelry design taste.
We each have our own unique style and sometimes we even learn from one
another. I met a friend of mine (Tracy) at the Ole Applegate Craft
Fair in Bentonville and her jewelry is beautiful but, at the same time,
totally different than mine. If you would like to see some of
Tracy's Jewelry, visit
www.tracydaviscreations.com. If you
talk to her, tell her I sent you.
Other than designing jewelry, I love spending time with my
pets - two dogs: Amber (yellow lab/hound mix), and Bear
(Australian Shepherd); and my four cats: Rockie; Ryan; and Jasper and Jeb (10
month old
brothers and newest members of my family). I recently lost my running
partner - a four year old Weimaraner, Max. He was buddy and we had
greats times jogging and playing. I hope to find another Weimaraner
like Max.
I enjoy staying in shape by jogging, mountain biking, and lifting weights. I
also love to work in my flower beds -
I have quite a few rose bushes that keep my home full of roses during the
blooming season.
I find great enjoyment from designing gemstone jewelry.
And I have to admit, it is the greatest high to have someone want to wear
my jewelry, other than myself and my mother. I will continue to make
new gemstone jewelry designs as long as this earth will create the minerals
that form these beautiful semi-precious gemstones.
