The
jasper gemstones of my jasper gemstone jewelry are created from the precious
minerals formed within our earth. This naturally occurring mineral can
be a mottled yellow or a mottled pink/red (Leopard Jasper), red (Poppy Jasper),
brown (Picture Jasper), or black, gray and brown (Picasso Jasper). The
jasper gemstone is actually a mottled chalcedony, a microcrystalline variety
of quartz. It is associated with iron ores and containing iron-oxide impurities
that give it various colors. Jasper varieties can be found in several
different environments, generally near the surface of the earth. Jasper
is found in California, on the north shores of the Great Lakes in Ontario, the
Petrified Forest National Monument in Arizona, in Arkansas, and in Texas. But
you can also find jasper gemstones in the handmade, jasper
jewelry of Danielle's Creations.
